Every verse carries timeless wisdom that illuminates the heart, strengthens faith, and guides us towards a life that is pleasing to Allah. Through reflection (tadabbur), the words of Allah become more than knowledge; they become a source of direction, comfort, and transformation.
This collection, Quranic Reflections, is a humble effort to pause and contemplate selected verses of the Qur’an. Each reflection begins with the direct meaning of the verse, followed by a brief contemplation and a practical reminder that encourages us to apply Allah’s guidance in our daily lives. The reflections are not intended to replace the study of tafsir, but to inspire readers to engage more deeply with the Qur’an and strengthen their connection with its timeless message.
The first series, Things Disliked by Allah, reflects upon selected verses from Surah Al-Isra’ (17:29–38) together with verse 17:44. These verses remind us that Allah calls us to moderation, trust, purity, knowledge, humility, and noble character, while warning against actions that distance us from His pleasure. The series concludes with a powerful reminder that the entire creation glorifies Allah, even though we do not perceive its praise.

Surah Ar-Ra‘d 13:31
A Reflection on Power, Guidance and Surrender
Some verses remind us not only of what Allah can do, but of who truly holds every matter.
Surah Ar-Ra‘d 13:31 speaks of mountains being moved, the earth being split, the dead being made to speak, and hearts being guided. These are matters far beyond human control, yet entirely within the command of Allah.
This ayat invites us to pause and remember: we are responsible for our effort, but the outcome belongs to Allah. Guidance belongs to Him. Power belongs to Him. The fulfilment of every promise belongs to Him.
These three reflections present the same ayat from different perspectives — the Qur’anic text, its meaning, and a zikr to carry in the heart:
Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh
There is no power and no strength except through Allah.
May these reminders deepen our tawakkul, soften our hearts, and teach us to surrender what we cannot control to the One who controls all things.
